Raised in the cornfields of Indiana, at 6'2" was destined to play high school basketball badly but instead abandoned his destiny for a life in the pep band. Avid football fan, one of the 12 hockey fans in Indiana and a lifelong basketball fan he plans to someday become the GM of an NFL franchise based purely on his Madden 2006 franchise mode resume.

IM/Email: ckloote@hotmail.comBorn and raised a mere couple miles away from the Evil Empire during the 80s and early 90s, went on to attend Purdue and learn valuable life lessons, like that 8-3 is actually a pretty awesome college football record, and nothing to get hysterical and call for coaches' heads over. Now lives in Indianapolis, is a Colts season ticket holder, and also often watches the slow moving train wreck that is the Indiana Pacers. Growing up in the shadow of the Windy City of course means still possessing strong Chicago team loyalties. Sports idiosyncrasies include: Caring far more about IRL (attending the last 10 Indy 500s) and Formula 1 than NASCAR, slowing growing fascination with Premier League soccer thanks to the Fox Soccer Channel.

Playing sports has never been this guy’s forte. In High School, he received the “heart award” for his contribution as a Power Forward on the Junior Varsity team. That was his Senior year. This man was built for one thing in the Wide World of Sports: sitting and watching. More competent observers will argue these are two things, but that’s not important to Shawn. He knows when he’s right, even when wrong is staring him in the face. The zenith of armchair-quarterbackery.

I spend most of my free time watching and talking sports, so I guess this was inevitable. The beauty and tragedy of the internet is everyone has a voice. I will do my best to be the latter. Stay tuned for comments on the Chicago Bears, Atlanta Braves and the hot women of country music.

Born in the shadows of New York City to two smart-alecky Brooklynites, Mike is the living incarnation of "you can take the kid out of the big city, but you can't take the big city out of the kid," despite wandering the plains of the American Midwest for most of the last two decades. He's settled in Indianapolis until a higher bidder can pry him loose. The once-proud holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Southeast Missouri State University, his major sports passions are baseball, football, basketball, harping at the media, and the New York Yankees.
