But it's a far from heroic. I seem to remember Andre Dawson- arguably the best player in the NL at the time- going to the Cubs with a blank contract and saying, "Fill in the blanks. I want to play here." If A-Rod really wants to wow the Yankee fan base, he'll do the same. You know that the Yankees would fork over a ludicrous amount of money and it would be a PR gold mine for both the Yankees and A-Rod.
