Yeah, as much as I wish and hope the Colts are "one and done" I think thoughts like that are from folks deluding themselves. While the Manning Colts won their first Super Bowl last year, they have been doing nothing but winning for a long, looooong time and show no signs of slowing down.

I'm a huge Patriots fan, but I can't help but have some begrudging respect for the Colts, they really do a lot of things right.

Unfortunately. ;)

People always seem to forget that Polian was the architect of the Bills teams that went to four consecutive Super Bowls. He not only knows how to build great football teams, but he knows how to build them to be great for the long run. Anyone who thinks a Bill Polian built championship winning team is going to be "one and done" is deluding themselves.

Excellent point and something I really should not have neglected. I need to dig through the Colts' roster and come up with the average draft depth of the Colts starting O-Line....

Aaand wow. The Colts' starting O-Line is comprised of rounds 2, 5, 4 and two undrafted free agents. So not only love for the big guys but more love for the scouting department. Also doesn't hurt to have one of the best O-Lien coaches in the game in Howard Mudd.

Every word of this is true, but I think the O-Line also deserves a big shout-out for the performance of the rookie RBs. There are a lot of struggling second and third-string backs in the NFL who could put up big numbers behind those guys. They delivered a beat-down on Sunday.

When you look at the teams that have been consistently successful in the Cap era, you have to give due props to the Broncos. They've had a revolving-door cast of nobodies at most of the skill positions ever since Elway and TD left, but they consistently win 9-10 games and pull a 1000-yard rusher out of thin air. Good coaching is part of it, but the fat guys deserve a big share of the credit.

When you look at the Saints, Eagles, and Rams this year, who all have gobs of talent in the backfield but have big holes in the O-Line... well, the results ain't pretty.
