		<description>Let's be honest... does anyone expect the new Veteran's Committee to allow anyone else to share in their glory?  I think you've got some major egos wanting to keep the spotlight for themselves, and won't see another VC selection anytime soon.

Also, Joe Morgan is a pompous, ignorant windbag.

His comments about the situation implied that they would be lowering their standards if they let Santo in.  Every time Joe Morgan opens his mouth, he lowers the IQ of the Hall, himself.</description>

As an example, Santo hit 31 homers in 1967, and this was tied for third in the league.  The same total would have placed well outside the Top 10 in either league last season.</description>
